Many thanks for all the comments.
I am sure you are correct in that there should be a baiting needle in the slots.
I will have to look for one at either Romsey or Redditch.
It would still be interesting to know what other items came originally with the box and I was wondering if anyone had a Milwards catalogue which may describe it, although I am not sure in which years the box was available.
Anyway thanks again for all your assistance.
Mike

There is a Milwards connection with Bartleet

May be worth keeping an eye on Milwards/Bartleet on Ebay.

Thanks again. The tin Black Prince metioned was described as Milwards Bartleet. Now I know the reason.

That really is a rather lovely item . Incredible to be in such good condition after so many years.
